My experiences in Indonesia

In July my family traveled to Indonesia to visit my Grandma before she retired from her job in the reading program. The reading program help poor children in Indonesia to be more interested in reading by making interesting books for them. Poor people could afford to go to school because it was not very much money.  I was amazed and shocked at their living conditions. They lived in houses the size of my bathroom made out of old wood or sometimes even just a tarpaulin! In their houses did not have beds, toilets, electricity, water and certainly no flat screen TVs or iPod touches. The one shared toilet that they did have would be disgusting and all the waste would go in the river! Indonesian people also chuck their rubbish in the river so as you'd expect they were horribly smelly. It was fascinating how even though the children lived in such dirty shacks they still managed to go to school very clean and presentable because their Mum's very often washed their uniform. The poor children were very proud to be going to school. My whole family had a great experience in Indonesia that I will never forget and even though Grandma is retired now she still often goes to visit.

I am sewing a roof to go on  my house  it has a red roof .

Sewing was lots of fun my background is green and my house is colourful. I was creative and I did a washing line with clothes on it. Miss France is already stated to make it into a quilt. I think everyone did a great job. Thank you parents for coming along to help.

I am sewing my house.
I enjoyed doing sewing as I have done it a lot at my house. When I heard we were doing sewing at school my heart started to beat like a drummer in a band. I would like to do this again at school just do something different. I was very happy of how my house turned out. I liked the pink fluffy guttering and my flower boxes.
When I heard we were doing sewing I almost fainted with happiness! I knew I would bring my mum and I was already thinking of a house to sew. When we started I was so exited I didn't know where to start. When we finished the houses I got a huge sewing bug which only has one cure more sewing. The thing I loved about my house was the little space buttons
When I think we are doing sewing we are at school. sewing is fun to learn because you need to make clothes because if you don't have clothes you can make some.
In this picture Mrs Wilkes is showing me the running stich so I can sew my roof on.

I am sewing on the roof of my house. My house has a red theme and I am using a special type of stitch that my Mum taught me. As well as that stitch I know blanket stitch and running stitch. It was tricky getting the thread through the needle. I really enjoyed sewing and I just couldn't stop!

I am sewing the roof of my house it was tricky getting the thread through the needle I am thinking what sort of door to put on my house I could not stop sewing I made a lot of things I enjoyed sewing I learnt that sewing isn't easy
I am sewing around my house here. It was hard to tie the knots with such small thread too. I could not stop sewing so me and my friends stayed in at lunch and finished sewing
