Hangi

We had to get logs and sticks so we could put them in the fire.  In the afternoon we had to peel the potatoes and the kumara.

We put the logs and sticks in the fire so we could make the fire burn.

Then we prepared the meat and vegetables and put them into wire baskets.

We let the fire burn down leaving the very hot rocks. After that we put the food in the pit with the hot volcanic rocks.

In the evening we took the food out of the pit.
While the food was getting ready we had a speech. The speech was blessing our new stone carving and saying thanks for Harewood School
                                                                         We sang songs together

This is Mr Briggs who helped us with our amazing carving.

Mrs Greenwood is thanking Mrs Gulliver for organising our hangi

the kapa haka group did some songs
Ashley and Elise said a karakia - a special prayer saying thank you for the lovely food.

Everyone enjoyed the food.

Christchurch Music Festival 2013

What a great night we all had at the CBS Arena performing. We all made it in time and enjoyed it. It was very hot with the lights. Our performance lasted over 2 hours! All of the songs sounded great. The orchestra was very good with all the different instruments.

We all loved wearing our summer uniform and
it was very uncomfortable on the seat the boys were
wearing a tie and White top and school shorts.
