cross country

On Wednesday the 29th the zones cross country people went to jellie park. There were about 60 people in each race there were 14 schools in the event, it was quite popular.The track was 2km and it was very zigzaggy. Lorenzo came 1st in the year 5 boys and the other boys did well as well. In the year 6 boys event Luke Z came 2nd and Oakley M came 3rd. At the end of the races everyone was very puffed and were proud of themselves. No one from the year 5 or 6 girls got into centrals but they did very well.
The hardest part was when we had to go up a steep hill.
Lorenzo, Luke Z and Oakley have to go to centrals on the 19th of June.

It was a great experience!!!

Science with Mr Rendle

Yesterday we had Mr Rendle come to give us a science lesson. He had a stick that showed us static electricity. he said he bored it from harry Potter but he dent he put underwater it spade at us. He showed us lots of toy cars one car could go on 4 wheels, 2 wheels and 1 wheel it was cool.We where supposed to tell us a about flying.

Mr Rendle told us about a gyroscope. It is a thing that helps planes and cars etc.. Some people got to have it in there hand and spin your wrist. A gyroscope spins around and tries to keep itself up, but it spins on an angle. When the people held it they said it felt like the gyroscope was moving your wrist!

In this photo Mr Rendle got Jaden to stand up and pour some water out of a thin bottle cap. The he used the wand to push the water away. It was very cool.

How to make sandwiches

We have been learning how to write accurate instructions that someone else can follow.

Today we made sandwiches in class using the lettuce out of our class vegetable garden.

Go and wash your hands first.

step 1: put a loaf of bread on the table.
step 2: smear butter on a piece of bread.
step 3: repeat step 2 with jam instead of butter.
step 4: put another slice of bread on top of the bread.
step 5: cut the bread into quarters.
step 6: eat it!!

jam

It is a smart idea because it saves peoples lives. It has a built in parachute and rockets and a boat. In an emergency ejection seat is so strong it can break your bones and you'll be shorter. The pilot will be straped in tightly.The only planes that have ejection seats are the jet fighter planes. Jason

Graffiti Art

Just down the road from Harewood School people have been tagging garages.

But the owners of the house decided to do something about it.

They decided to get a professional Graffiti artist to spray paint a mural over the bad tagging.

His name is Wongi. Wongi is a professional Graffiti artist.

This is Charlotte, Isabella, James E and Wongi.

Wongi is going to be painting a business logo for a construction company on one garage!

This is the owner of The house Tania and her beautiful dog Lucky.

On the other garage There will be the logo.

This is Wongi's Spelling mistake!!!!!!!=)

He wrote CONCRUCTION instead of CONSTRUCTION. He got it right but didn't like the way he had written it so he painted over it then when he was concentrating on making it neater the second time he made the spelling mistake. Miss France said this often happens when you are trying to be neat on the white board too.Luckily he changed it before Tania saw it.
